Welcome to Morton House

Located in the heart of Northeastern Indiana's Amish Country

Morton House is located in downtown Shipshewana, Indiana within the heart of Northeastern Indiana’s Amish Country.  Guests at the House have easy access to the attractions, sights, and sounds of the area.

Staying at Morton House, you will be within strolling distance of 70+ downtown shops offering furniture, home décor and accessories, antiques, collectible glass, used books, bamboo goods, products of local craftsmen, quilts, fabrics, and a variety of gift shops to name a few. Children can enjoy making their own doll, riding a 1906 carousel, visiting the candy, toy or puzzle shop, or going for a buggy ride to see the town.  

Restaurants featuring American or Amish country-style cooking and bakeries with fresh-baked cookies, pastries, jams, and pies are just a few special treats you will find all within walking distance of the House.

The House is located two blocks east of the famous Bluegate Restaurant, Bakery, and Theater.  The Bluegate brings to its theater live theatrical productions, musical artists, and celebrity personalities. Just two blocks south of the House you will find one of the nation’s top flea markets with over 900 vendors. The Trading Place flea market includes antiques, clothing, handmade products, home accessories and local produce, plus lots more. The Shipshewana Trading Place also holds a weekly antique auction and livestock auction on Wednesday’s throughout the year.
